Presenting: An Evening with Dr. Ross Greene

September 7, 2023

The Beachwood Neurodiversity Family Network and Beachwood Schools proudly present an evening with renowned child psychologist Dr. Ross Greene on Thursday, October 5, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Beachwood High School (25100 Fairmount Blvd.) Doors open at 5 p.m. Registration is required.

Dr. Greene is the New York Times best-selling author of “The Explosive Child” and “Lost at School.” He will speak about proven techniques for addressing challenging behaviors in children and teenagers through an evidence-based approach known as the Collaborative and Proactive Solutions (CPS) model. The event will feature a live question and answer session following Dr. Greene’s presentation.

The CPS model provides a structure for collaboration between adults–including parents, educators, and caregivers–and the child. Dr. Greene’s collaborative, problem-solving approach helps caregivers respond to challenging behaviors in ways that are more compassionate, productive, and effective.

Participants will learn:

  • Tools to identify the underlying problems and lagging skills that cause challenging behaviors

  • Practical strategies for improving interactions with children and teens to reduce challenging behaviors

  • Positive, proactive alternatives to punishment

  • Strategies to improve behavior by teaching children and teens skills such as flexibility/adaptability, frustration tolerance, and problem solving

Social Advocates for Youth, a program of Bellefaire JCB, is providing 1.5 free continuing education units (CEUs) for counselors, psychologists, and social workers who attend.

The event is free and open to the public. Sponsors include the Cuyahoga County Public Library, Lives in the Balance, Milestones Autism Resources, and Connecting for Kids. Tickets are required for entry. To register, go to:
