This week’s Bison Staff Spotlight is Raymond Johnson. As a driver in the transportation department, Mr. Johnson has been a warm and caring presence in Beachwood Schools for two years. He makes a positive difference in the lives of students by going the extra mile to form a connection with each child on his route.
“I have a great understanding of kids,” said Mr. Johnson. “I’m still a big kid at heart.”
Mr. Johnson is known as a great communicator. He puts nervous riders at ease with his gentle demeanor and genuine interest in getting to know them. Having spent many years coaching football, Mr. Johnson relates easily to children and their interests, whether they enjoy sports, cartoons, video games, or playing outside.
“I am proud of being able to reach out to the kids and help those in need,” said Mr. Johnson. “It’s important to allow them to be kids.”
Mr. Johnson also enjoys working with the close-knit team in the transportation department.
“I love working here, especially with Susan Augusta and Heather Farkas,” he said. “They welcomed me with open arms. They’re very understanding and helpful. It’s a great community to work in.”
