Our Bison Staff Spotlight this week is Transportation Coordinator Susan Augusta. Throughout her 16 years with Beachwood Schools, she has developed a reputation for her strong people skills, caring personality, and solid work ethic.
Ms. Augusta worked as a bus driver in the District for 14 years prior to her role as transportation coordinator. When asked about her favorite part of working in Beachwood Schools, she gave two responses: “Getting to know the students and families and being part of such a strong transportation group,” she said.
“Our transportation department is such a tight-knit group,” said Ms. Augusta.
This synergy has been essential throughout the pandemic and bus driver shortage. “We came together as a group,” she said. “Everyone helps each other.”
Reflecting on her career with Beachwood Schools, Ms. Augusta said she is most proud of her drivers, who shape students’ learning journey every day with their smiles, positive attitudes and teamwork.
“Our drivers are the heart of the District,” said Ms. Augusta.
