Today we are launching a weekly Bison Staff Spotlight highlighting the caring staff who help our students grow and thrive everyday. It truly takes a village, and this spotlight will feature team members from all areas of our school community. We are excited to introduce you to the friendly faces at the heart of the Beachwood City Schools family.
Fittingly, our inaugural staff spotlight features a team member who exemplifies warmth, dedication and integrity. Assistant Treasurer Kathleen Stroski has been with the District for 32 years. In today’s spotlight, Kathleen reflects on her career and shares valuable words of wisdom.
What is your favorite part of working in Beachwood Schools?
In the Treasurer’s office, we are involved in so many different facets of the business of education. Our main goal is customer service, whether we are meeting the needs of parents, staff or vendors. Everyday is a little different. We’re always challenged, and we are always working to improve our processes. This has made my career with Beachwood Schools both fulfilling and rewarding.
What are your strengths?
I have learned over the years to be flexible. Change happens daily, and I have learned to roll with it. I tell myself that I can only control today–just handle today.
What makes you proud?
Two things: My family and our team here in the Treasurer’s Office. Our Treasurer, Michele Mills, is one of the top treasurers in Ohio. We work hard to support her. I am proud of my work and our reputation. As a department, we are recognized by our staff as well as colleagues in other districts for our integrity, organization and fiscal responsibility.
I am thankful for my husband and two children for always being supportive of my career. Our department works long hours, and my family is always there to pick up the slack. They are truly the joy of my life.
