A valuable source of current events for thousands of Ohio third through eighth grade students, NewsDepth is a weekly news program that helps teachers meet state academic content standards in language arts, social studies, and more, while linking Ohio students with the world.

The Beachwood segment was originally produced for radio by WCPN and WKSU as part of a three-school series entitled "Schools that Work." The radio program aired during Morning Edition on 90.3 and was rebroadcast during All Things Considered. Click here to listen to the radio segment on WCPN.

While the television segment features only Beachwood Middle School, the radio series looks at three area middle schools that are making a positive difference:

  • Beachwood Middle School in Beachwood: Using technology as a path to student improvement
  • Roswell Kent Middle School in Akron: Rewarding positive behavior to change negative outcomes
  • Minerva Middle School in Minerva: Drawing on parental involvement
