Beachwood Schools Affinity Groups

Start or Join an Affinity Group

Beachwood Schools encourages the gathering of informal and formal affinity groups. An affinity group brings together people with shared interests or goals to act collectively for a specific purpose. The primary aim of these affinity groups is to facilitate connections, provide support, and foster a sense of belonging among members who meet these criteria.

A Seat at the Table

The purpose of "A Seat at the Table" is to give voice to underrepresented groups by regularly bringing together members of the affinity groups with the administration, staff, and Board of Education. These meaningful discussions enable our school district to gain insights into the experiences of underrepresented students and improve their educational journey. "A Seat at the Table" events foster unity and collaboration among diverse affinity groups. These meetings have led to tangible improvements, including:

  • The inclusion of Diwali, Lunar New Year, and Eid al-Fitr as holidays in the academic calendar.
  • Enhanced communications that are more inclusive and accessible.
  • Initiatives supporting staff diversity.
  • Strengthened relationships and partnerships between underrepresented groups and school staff.
