Track and Field Student-Athletes Head to OHSAA State Meet

Beachwood High School track student-athletes have qualified for the OHSAA state championship that will be contested on June 6-7 at Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus. The state qualifiers talked about their accomplishments this season and previewed the state meet in the video below.

At the regional meet, freshman Meena Adbul-Basser qualified for the state meet with first place finishes in the 400-meter dash and a runner-up finish in the 200-meter dash. Classmate Kyrsten Ginn qualified in the 100-meter dash with a runner-up finish and the 200-meter day by placing fourth, while senior Levi Turell advanced to the state meet in to 400-meter day.

Abdul-Basser and Ginn teamed up with K’Dyn Harris-Tate and Marley Readance to win the regional title in the 4×200-meter relay, while Ginn, Harris-Tate, Ambyr Paul, and Readance won the regional title in the 4×100-meter relay.
