State Champion Wrestler Honored with Resolution by Ohio Senate
BEACHWOOD, OH – Beachwood High School student-athlete Caleb Greenwood was honored during an Ohio Senate session on June 4 with a resolution recognizing his state championship win earlier this year.
Greenwood, who just completed his junior year, captured the Division III state wrestling title in the 150-pound weight class at the 2025 OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament in March. In the state championship match, Greenwood fell behind 7-0, but rallied with an escape with three seconds left in the second period to cut the deficit to 7-1. He recorded three takedowns and a penalty point in the final period to claim an 11-10 victory, becoming Beachwood’s 19th individual state champion.
Greenwood finished his junior campaign with a 46-2 record and earned All-Ohio honors for the second straight year. He finished eighth in the state as a sophomore.
Resolution No. 131 of the 136th General Assembly Regular Session was sponsored by State Senator Kent Smith and commended Greenwood for his athletic excellence, dedication, and perseverance throughout the season. Representative Eric Synenberg presented Greenwood with the honor and can be seen in the video below.
