Robin Ludwig Named Director of Special Education

BEACHWOOD, OH – Beachwood City Schools is pleased to announce the appointment of Robin Ludwig as the district’s new Director of Special Education. In this role, Ludwig will oversee the coordination of the district’s special education and related services programs.

“It is a privilege to be selected as Director of Special Education for this thriving community,” Ludwig said. “I am most excited to be surrounded by professionals, parents and community stakeholders who share common high standards for all students. I look forward to establishing valuable relationships with the families of Beachwood, and helping all students achieve an equitable and empowering education.”

Ludwig has more than 20 years of experience in special education leadership. Most recently, she served as the Coordinator of Behavior Intervention Services for Woodridge Local Schools since 2022, where she led district-wide functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention planning. Ludwig was also the district’s CPI trainer and was a member of the MTSS and PBIS leadership teams.

Prior to Woodridge, Ludwig spent 12 years as Director of Intensive Needs Programming at the Geauga County Educational Service Center/ESC of the Western Reserve, overseeing specialized programming for students with autism, emotional disabilities, and multiple disabilities across multiple K-12 settings.

Ludwig began her career as a Clinical Supervisor at Nationwide Children’s Hospital Intensive Autism Clinic before serving as an Autism/Behavior Specialist for the Geauga County ESC where she designed and implemented special programming for students across seven school districts.

Ludwig holds a Master of Arts in Special Education from The Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Case Western Reserve University. She is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst, a Certified Ohio Behavior Analyst, and holds an Ohio Administrative Specialist License.

“Beachwood's special education program has a strong reputation that is far reaching,” Ludwig said. “As the incoming director I intend to build on this reputation, with a focus on strengthening the MTSS process across buildings, refining our use of data driven interventions and decisions, and ensuring all staff working with our students are measuring success based on long term student outcomes.”
