MathCounts Team Competes at State Meet

BEACHWOOD, OH - Beachwood’s top Mathletes competed at the Ohio MathCounts state competition on March 7, joining more than 150 students from over 30 teams across the state who qualified by placing at the top of their regional competitions.

The Beachwood team of Kaiyi Gao, Sota Tsuda, Korou Salem, and Joanna Qu delivered an outstanding performance, earning fifth place overall in the state. Individually, Gao placed 5th and is now an alternate for Nationals. Gao also advanced to the Countdown Round, where students solve challenging problems and buzz in with answers under intense time pressure, finishing third overall.

We are incredibly proud of these talented students, who dedicated many hours preparing for such a challenging competition and look forward to seeing our 6th and 7th graders compete again next year.
