Girls Track & Field Wins Indoor State Championship; Boys Place 6th

BEACHWOOD, OHThe Beachwood High School girls track and field team captured the 2026 OATCCC Indoor Track & Field State Championship on Saturday at Spire Institute. The team scored 52 points, bettering the runner-up by 23 points. It marks the fifth indoor state title for the girls team in program history.

In addition, the BHS boys team placed sixth at the state meet with 20 points.

The girls team crowned four state champions at the meet, including K’Dyn Harris-Tate who won the 60-meters, Kyrsten Ginn who won the 200-meters, Meena Abdul-Basser who claimed the 400-meter title, and the 4x200 relay team of Harris-Tate, Marley Readance, Abdul-Basser, and Ginn who won the event for the second straight season. Harris-Tate was also fourth in the 200-meters, while Sasha Kheyfets finished fourth in the 1,600-meters, and Redance was seventh in the 60-meters.

On the boys side, the 4x200-meter relay team of Tristan Brown, Highley Devine, Peter Adobamen, and Luke Warner finished as the state runner-up, while Brown, Adobamen, Braylon Moultrie placed third in the 4x400-meter relay.

Adobamen had a third place finish in the 800-meters for a podium finish, while Warner was 10th in the 200-meters and Brown placed 11th in the 400-meters. The team of Colin Tew, Nolan Walsh, Asher Hardis, and Artiom Tkachenko were 14th in the 4x800-meter relay.
