Destination Imagination Teams Compete at Globals

BEACHWOOD, OH – Several Beachwood Schools Destination Imagination (DI) teams had a memorable and successful experience at this year’s Destination Imagination Global Tournament in Kansas City from May 21-24. The four teams showcased their skills at Globals after months of hard work, creativity, and determination.

“All of our students represented the District with honor and respect," advisor Tara Warner said. “We are all very grateful for the amazing support that helped our teams shine.”

Team results from Globals are listed below.

O.A.T.S. - 2nd place, Middle Level Improvisation

  • Team members include Oscar Liang, Tanishka Singh, Athena Yu, and Sophia Wang. This team of eighth graders has worked together for many years and has qualified for the Global tournament multiple times.

the PUPPETeers, 5th place, Elementary Level Improvisation

  • Team members include Jacob Hott, Geoffrey Lane, Iris Liu, Ashvik Singh, Hansen Zhang, and Johnny Zhai. After most team members qualified and competed at Globals last year, they returned this year with a goal of earning a top-10 finish.

The Smartsters, 17th place, Elementary Level Improvisation

  • Team members include George Vaughn, Melody Wang, Bodhi Julka, and Ella Zhu. This fourth-grade team made its first appearance at the Global Tournament and delivered a strong performance.

Party Penguins 2.0, 18th place, Elementary Level Improvisation

  • Team members include Niki Karimi, Mishika Kasliwal, Cailynn Loyd, Ronak Seth, Khushi Upadhyaya, Kedar Viswanath, and Zeiv Wolach. This fifth grade team was making their first appearance at Globals and had a successful showing.

Beachwood Schools congratulates all of its Destination Imagination participants, coaches, and families on an outstanding season.
