Chinese Family Affinity Group and AAPI Club Host Lunar New Year Celebration

BEACHWOOD, OH – The Beachwood Schools Chinese Family Affinity Group and AAPI Club hosted a Lunar New Year Celebration on March 1. The event brought together more than 500 students, families, and community members for an evening filled with culture, tradition, and joy.

Held at Beachwood High School, the evening opened with an impressive lineup of performances, beginning with dynamic presentations of the Lion Dance and the Dragon Dance. Those were followed by a mother-daughter performance of “Blue and White Porcelain”, and a Traditional Dance “Dearest One”. The show concluded with a variety of musical performances, including selections from the orchestra, a dance performance by SuperChill, and the Youth Choir who closed the show with four songs.

The performance portion of the night was hosted by BHS students Leo Wang, Srishti Ithycanda, Joseph Mo, and Sarah Zhou, who guided the audience through the program.

Following the performances, guests enjoyed dinner and participated in activities that created opportunities to learn, share traditions, and build community.
