Board Appoints Jeremy Banchek to District Audit Committee
The Beachwood Board of Education unanimously appointed Jeremy Banchek to the district's audit committee during its regular meeting, held September 23. He fills the vacancy left by Patty Rubin, who retired last spring after a decade of service on the committee. Mr. Banchek’s appointment is effective through December 31, 2026.
Mr. Banchek, a 2004 Beachwood High School graduate, currently serves as Accounting Director at US Acute Care Solutions, where he manages payroll accounting matters, annual audits, and financial duties for a subsidiary. He holds a degree in accounting from Miami University and resides in Beachwood with his wife, Jessica (class of 2003), and their two daughters, who attend Hilltop and Bryden Elementary Schools.
The audit committee provides oversight of financial reporting and internal controls to ensure transparency and accountability in the district’s financial operations. In addition to Mr. Banchek, the committee includes community members Maria Bennett and David Ostro, board member Dr. Josephine Chan, and Treasurer Matthew Brown. Superintendent Dr. Robert Hardis serves as an ex-officio member.
Following the Board’s unanimous vote, Treasurer Brown expressed his appreciation for Mr. Banchek’s willingness to serve. "Jeremy has extensive background in both the accounting and finance world,” he said. “We are thankful to have you volunteer and serve in this capacity for the district."
