Beachwood Students Excel on AP Exams, Set Record for Seal of Biliteracy

BEACHWOOD, OH – Beachwood City Schools is proud to announce outstanding results from the 2025 Advanced Placement (AP) testing cycle, highlighting the academic excellence and dedication of our students, educators, and staff.

This year, 243 Beachwood students took a total of 608 AP exams across a wide range of subjects. The average score across all exams was an impressive 4.0 out of 5.0, with an overall passage rate of 88.7%. Notably, results on 19 out of the 25 AP tests showed an improvement in passage rates compared to last year, while results on 14 tests boast a 100% passage rate. One standout achievement came from the AP Pre-Calculus course taught by Lisa Morgan, where all 29 students earned the highest score of 5.

In addition to AP success, 35 Beachwood High School students earned the Seal of Biliteracy - the highest number in school history. This year, students earned the Seal of Biliteracy in American Sign Language, Chinese, Hebrew, Korean, and Spanish. Since the program began in 2018, a total of 179 students at Beachwood High School have earned the Seal of Biliteracy.

“These exceptional results reflect the strength of our academic programs and the commitment our students and educators make everyday in the classroom,” said Superintendent Robert Hardis. “From Advanced Placement success to the growing number of students earning the Seal of Biliteracy, these accomplishments are a testament to the culture of high academic expectations that define Beachwood City Schools.”
