Beachwood Students Compete at Ohio Figure Skating Competition

BEACHWOOD, OH – Beachwood Schools students recently competed at the 20th Ohio High School Figure Skating Championships as part of the Eastside Blades team. The competition was held at Thornton Park in Shaker Heights and featured 17 teams representing 39 schools from across the state.

The Eastside Blades team captured first place in the Team Maneuvers event with Beachwood students Natalia Agudelo, Jacob Isaacson, Lorena Tovanche, Anna Tonyushkin, Masha Tonyushkin, and Dominik Herjan contributing to the winning performance. In addition, two Beachwood students earned first place medals in individual events. Herjan placed first in Intermediate Men’s Free Skate, while Tovanche medaled in Intermediate Solo Free Dance and Silver Solo Pattern Dance.

Eastside Blades consists of students from Beachwood, Orange, and Twinsburg, with Beachwood representing the largest component of the combined team.

Congratulations to all of the Beachwood students for their outstanding performances and representing the district and community at the state level
