Beachwood Schools Named Best Community for Music Education
BEACHWOOD, Ohio – For the 20th consecutive year, the Beachwood City School District has been honored with the Best Communities for Music Education designation from The National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for its outstanding commitment to music education.
Now in its 25th year, the award program recognizes outstanding efforts by teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, students and community leaders who have made music education part of a well-rounded education.
“This award is not only a recognition of excellence in the classroom, but also of the support provided by the District as a whole and the Beachwood community,” said Shelley McKenzie, Beachwood General Music/Choir teacher. “Thank you to everyone for your efforts in teaching, supporting, and promoting our musicians.”
Beachwood is one of just 53 districts in Ohio to receive the award this year and one of 935 honored throughout the country.
The NAMM Foundation is a nonprofit supported in part by the National Association of Music Merchants and its approximately 10,300 members around the world. The foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving, and public service programs.
