Beachcomber Excels at Ohio Scholastic Media Convention
The Beachcomber staff, advised by Josh Davis, secured top honors across multiple categories at the Ohio Scholastic Media Association Convention, held last Friday at Kent State University. Beachwood High School's student newspaper clinched first place for both its print and online editions, alongside 27 individual awards.

Taia Menefee will serve her second term on the Ohio Scholastic Media Association student board along with leaders in student journalism from around the state. Lyndia Zheng will serve her first term on the board this year.
Additional Accolades
In addition to this outstanding achievement, five members of the Beachcomber staff —Shreya Chellu, Maddie Mehler, Taia Menefee, Allie Rindsberg, and Lyndia Zheng — attended the Cleveland Media Academy this winter, an eight-week Saturday program sponsored by Cleveland.com. At the end of the program, Allie Rindsberg was honored as a recipient of the Eric Russell scholarship.
Finally, we'd like to congratulate Lyndia Zheng, who was admitted to the summer academy at the School of The New York Times.
