Rini Ghosh, appointed to the Board of Education in January 2024, serves as a senior research associate and project manager at Case Western Reserve University. Her work focuses on reducing cancer disparities in vulnerable communities across Greater Cleveland. She has taught over 23 courses in public health, health policy, human rights, and global health at Northeastern University and the Northeast Ohio Medical University. Rini earned her Master of Public Policy from Northeastern University and a bachelor's degree in South Asian Studies at the University of Toronto, where she served as student council president. As a board member, Rini brings a solid background in leadership and public service. After graduating from the University of Toronto, she ventured into the political arena by running for the Provincial Parliament in Ontario, followed by a national campaign for member of the Parliament of Canada. Despite not securing a seat, these experiences deepened her commitment to progressive, evidence-based policymaking. Rini has resided in Beachwood since 2019 with husband Abhishek, a cancer researcher at The Cleveland Clinic, and their two children, Raaya and Aarysh. During her spare time, Rini can often be spotted at Barkwood with her favorite four-legged companions, Onyx and Oreo.
