MEGAN WALSH

Megan Walsh was appointed to the Beachwood Board of Education in January 2019 and elected in November of 2019. Megan earned a Master of Science in Social Administration from Case Western Reserve University with a Children, Youth & Families concentration and School Social Work certificate after completing a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a business certificate at Indiana University-Bloomington. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker-Supervisor with 10 years of direct service experience with families living in the city of Cleveland. For 8 years, Megan served as the MomsFirst Deputy Project Director at the Cleveland Department of Public Health where she focused on closing the racial disparity in infant mortality through dismantling systemic racism and providing supportive home visiting for pregnant women. Megan currently serves as the Program Manager for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Education at the Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. Passionate about reading and literacy, Megan also serves on the board of Daily Dose of Reading. Megan and her husband, Brandon, moved to Beachwood in 2013 and have two sons, Nolan and Cooper, in the Beachwood Schools.

Jillian DeLong was elected to the Beachwood School Board of Education in November 2019 for a 2 year term and re-elected in November 2021.  Jillian earned her bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Cleveland State University.  She has been employed by Cuyahoga Community College for ten years.  Jillian worked as a Senior Accountant for the first six years in the Administrative and Finance Department where she gained extensive experience in fiscal responsibility including budget management, reconciliation of accounts, forecasting and variance analysis, and GASB reporting and compliance. Four years ago, she transitioned to the Manager of College Assets and Mail Operations in the Capital & Construction Department. In this role she has overseen a multitude of projects that require collaboration with both the academic side and administrative side of the school.  Jillian is currently managing Capital & Construction projects that exceed $40 million dollars that was part of the College’s most recent Capital Bond Levy of $227 million dollars. She is an active member of the community serving as a volunteer for the PTO, Beachwood Girl Scout Daisy Troop, and is a member of the Citizen Finance Committee. Jillian and her husband, Daniel Small, have two children, Oliver and Ellie, in the Beachwood Schools. 

KIM ALLAMBY

Kim Allamby was elected to the Beachwood Board of Education in November of 2021. A beneficiary of a strong public-school education herself, Kim was a 1988 graduate of neighboring Shaker Heights High School and went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Michigan and a Master of Physical Therapy degree from the University of Pittsburgh. For more than 25 years Kim has dedicated herself to improving the quality of life for countless patients as a Licensed Physical Therapist and currently works at a local nursing home.

 
Kim moved to Beachwood in 2015 with her husband Carl and their two daughters, Kayla and Kennedy, because of the schools. Kim is honored and excited to serve her Beachwood community and is passionate about optimizing educational excellence for all students while embracing the diverse and unique background of every family in the school district.

DR. JOSEPHINE CHAN

Josephine earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences at University of Chicago.  Her drive towards academic excellence brought her to Cleveland where she earned her Doctorate degree in Genetics at Case Western University School of Medicine. Her passion for learning led her to pursue a second post graduate degree in a completely different field, a Master of Business Administration from the Weatherhead School of Management.  Josephine has over 20 years of cancer research experience.  Since 2014, Josephine is the Director for the Clinical Trials Unit at UH Seidman Cancer Center. This position allows her to combine her love for science while using her leadership and administrative skills for the advancement of treatment and helping to improve the lives of patients.  She enjoys mentoring the next generation of scientists and is a mentor for the Engage! Cleveland Women's Mentorship program.  Josephine and her husband, Ricky, moved to Beachwood in 2013. They have two children, Ethan and Julianna, in the Beachwood schools.
 

WENDY LEATHERBERRY

Wendy Leatherberry was elected to the Board of Education in 2021. Wendy has more than two decades of experience as a non-profit professional and passionate advocate for public education and social justice. She holds a BA in English from the George Washington University and a Masters in Science in Urban Studies from the Levin College at Cleveland State University. Wendy is currently the Director of Development for Every Woman Treaty. Previously, Wendy has served as the Director of Grants and Contracts at Cleveland Rape Crisis Center, supervising a team and raising millions of dollars to support the work for the Center across its four-county footprint. Wendy previously served on the Cleveland Heights/University Heights Board of Education—the District that educated her—from 2004-2008, including one year as Board President and two as Vice President. Wendy is married to Dr. Carl Horowitz and they have lived in Beachwood since 2011. They have two children, one a 2021 BHS graduate and one currently attending Beachwood Schools.
