Board Elects Officers, Welcomes New Members
Recently-elected Board of
Education members Joshua Mintz and Steve Rosen were sworn in at the Board's
organizational meeting on Jan. 9. The board elected Dr. Brian Weiss to
serve as its president and Mitchel E. Luxenburg to serve as vice
president.
Dr. Weiss, who has served on the Board since 2004, was sworn in by Beachwood Mayor Merle S. Gorden. Mr. Luxenburg, who has served since 2010, was sworn in by Beachwood City Council President Saul Eisen. David Ostro is now the longest-tenured member of the Board, having served since 2000.
Mr. Rosen was also sworn in by Mayor Gorden, while Mr. Mintz was sworn in by his father, Beachwood City Councilman Mark Mintz. Mr. Eisen and Mr. Mark Mintz are also former members of the Beachwood Board of Education.
Four members of the Board - all except Mr. Rosen - are alumni of Beachwood High School. Click here to read the bios of all the board members.
