Beachwood's 5 Teams Finish Strong at DI Globals

May 24, 2014 – Three Beachwood teams placed in the top 15 in the world and two more Beachwood teams placed in the top 30 at the Destination Imagination 2014 Global Finals, held May 21-24, at the University of Tennessee.

A record 1,412 teams comprising 7,978 students competed in this year's Global Finals. More than 125,000 students participated in Destination Imagination tournaments worldwide.

In March, 12 Beachwood teams participated in the DI regional tournament, held at Beachwood High School. Of Beachwood’s nine competitive teams, five teams finished in first place in their respective categories to advance to the state DI tournament. The remaining four competitive teams all placed. For the first year, Beachwood also fielded three Rising Stars (non-competitive) teams from Bryden Elementary School at Regionals. The five Beachwood teams that competed at Globals - two each from Hilltop Elementary School and Beachwood Middle School and one from Beachwood High School - qualified by placing among the top three teams in their respective challenges at the state DI tournament held on April 26.
