Construction on the Beachwood High School Improvement Project began following the conclusion of the 2010-2011 school year. A new classroom wing, performing arts suite, and physical education addition highlight the construction plans, which also include enhancements to the facility's technology and utilities infrastructure. While phases of the project will be completed sooner, the project is scheduled to be completed in its entirety by the Fall of 2013. Once complete, the improved Beachwood High School facility will mirror the school's award-winning academic curriculum.

Below is a summary of this summer's construction timetable:

May:

• Site secured with metal fencing
• Trucks and large earth moving equipment begin moving soil and installing piping

June:

• Trailers will be placed in the flat area to the south of the parent drop-off loop
• Concrete foundation work will begin on the South Gym and Auditorium additions
• Demolition of the art room and counselors' offices

July:

• Concrete foundation work continues
• Utilities across the front entrance will be installed
• Masonry, plumbing, and electrical contractors will mobilize

August:

• Site work will be completed
• Masonry walls will begin
• Site will be prepared for the return of the students in late August

• Renovation of 500-600-700 halls
• Installation of mechanical systems in basement area currently occupied by band and music programs
