Beachwood Schools Foundation
The Beachwood Schools Foundation (BSF) was established in 1996 by then-Superintendent Paul Williams and the Beachwood community to fund school-based educational opportunities and to recognize student achievement in the Beachwood City School system. Each year the Foundation has a scholarship application process to invite deserving Beachwood High School seniors to apply for college scholarships in their areas of interest and/or expertise. There are currently 24 scholarships funded within the scholarship program of the Beachwood Schools Foundation. All applications are due to be turned into the guidance office by 3 pm on Friday, March 13, 2015.
Beachwood Community PTO
Each year the Community PTO sponsors scholarships for deserving seniors. All college-bound seniors who will be receiving a BHS diploma have the opportunity to apply for these awards. If you are selected as a recipient, you will be recognized at the Senior Awards Assembly and receive a $500 award from the scholarship fund. In addition, each recipient will be featured on the 2015-2016 PTO calendar cover.
Friends of the Beachwood Library
The Friends of Beachwood Branch Library of the Cuyahoga County Public Library invite high school seniors who are residents of Beachwood, Ohio, to apply for a scholarship. First place is $1250; 2nd place is $750; and 3rd place is $500. The directions and guidelines for this essay are below. The deadline for all entries is Friday, April 10, 2015, by 5 pm.
Senior Search
Senior Search, an optional project, provides qualified seniors with the opportunity to explore individual interests and career opportunities off campus in a school-community partnership. It encourages Beachwood High School seniors to examine and reflect on the world outside of the high school so that they are better prepared to make decisions about personal goals. It should serve as a culmination of their academic experience. Senior Search can include shadowing a professional, creating a performance or work of art, researching a specific field, or assisting a social service agency. Students need to come up with a valid project proposal, faculty advisor and on-site coordinator. Students should feel free to explore possible project ideas with faculty, family and friends.
