Homework Assignment Details

Read for 15 minutes
Each night students must read for 15 minutes and record their reading on their reading card. Students must record the title of the text they read and the amount of time they read. They must also write a sentence to use the weekly reading strategy. This week's strategy is to write about one connection they made while reading.

Home Journal:
Students should write in their home journal for 10 minutes. Students may write about a topic of their choice. If students struggle to find a topic to write about, they may choose a story starter from the journal calendar.

Spelling Worksheet:
Students must complete a spelling worksheet in which they apply their weekly spelling words.

Spelling Sentences:
Students write 1 sentence for each of their spelling words. Students must write a complete sentence using correct capitalization and punctuation. They must also highlight the spelling word in the sentence.
*This week, students should write all of their spelling sentences about one main topic.
