Beachwood City School District Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School
This Invitation to Bid relates to the Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School ("Project"). The Project may require off-hours work (after regular business hours and on weekends) in order to meet the timeline. Final completion of the Project must occur no later than July 21, 2017. The Work may commence on July 1, 2017 and shall include all labor and materials for the following:
The Beachwood City School District is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to remove and replace drainage, asphalt and striping at Beachwood Middle School (2860 Richmond Road Beachwood, OH 44122).
Sealed bids will be received by the Office of the Treasurer, 24601 Fairmont Boulevard, Beachwood, Ohio 44122, until March 3, 2017 @ 12:00 pm for “Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School” according to plans and/or specifications prepared by Ken Veon, Director of Operations & Technology.
The responsibility for timely and appropriate bid submission rests solely with each bidder. Sealed bids submitted by mail must be certified or registered with return receipt requested and properly sealed and clearly marked on the outside with the statement: “Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School”. Sealed bids received after the above appointed date and time will not be accepted.
Work must be scheduled/coordinated in advance with Ken Veon. A walk-through meeting for all interested bidders will be conducted on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 10:00 am at Beachwood Middle School (2860 Richmond Road Beachwood, OH 44122).
All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty or Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid or a certified check, cashier’s check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid. All such Bid Guaranties and Contract Bonds must comply in all respects with applicable Ohio law for public school construction projects. Bid Guaranties and Contract Bonds accompanying rejected bids will be returned upon award of the contract.
All submitted bids must comply in all respects with the requirements set forth in this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, and other Bid Documents. A bid will be considered nonresponsive if it fails to comply in all respects with this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, and other Bid Documents. No Bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of the sealed bids. The Beachwood City School District Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.
Subject to the right of the Owner to reject any or all bids, the Beachwood City School District Board of Education will award the contract for the Work to the bidder that is determined to be responsible and who submits the lowest responsive bid in accordance with Section 9.312 of the Ohio Revised Code, taking into consideration accepted alternates, if any.
The estimated cost of the Work for the Project is $415,250, and this estimated cost includes a contingency allowance of $37,750. Your bid must include this contingency allowance of $37,750.
