Instructions to Bidders Packet

This Invitation to Bid relates to the Beachwood City School District Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School, the Beachwood City Schools Transportation lot, Bryden Elementary, and Hilltop Elementary ("Project").  For this proposal, work must be completed in a specific time frame due to scheduling of summer activities. Work will need to be started no earlier than July 2, 2018 and completed by July 20, 2018.  A walkthrough will be conducted on February 23, 2018 @ 10:00 am at Beachwood Middle School. The Work may commence on July 2, 2018 and shall include all permits, inspections, labor, and materials for the following:

Sawcut and remove existing pavement/curb for installation of proposed curb
Excavate earth

The Office of the CFO/Treasurer will receive sealed bids for the Project until 12:00 pm on March 2, 2018. The Office of the CFO/Treasurer is located at 24601 Fairmount Blvd. Beachwood, OH 44122.

Walk -Thru/Site Visit for Bidders:  February 23, 2018 at 10:00 am, local time, at Beachwood Middle School at 2860 Richmond Rd.  Beachwood, OH 44122 (meet at the main entrance to the building). 
 
The responsibility for timely and appropriate bid submission rests solely with each bidder. Sealed bids submitted by mail must be certified or registered U.S. mail with return receipt requested. All bids, whether submitted by certified or registered mail or in person, must be clearly marked on the outside of the sealed envelope with the following identifying statement:  "Beachwood City School District Asphalt Project at Beachwood Middle School."  Sealed bids received after the above-appointed date and time will not be accepted.  

All bids must be accompanied by a Bid Guaranty in the form of either a Bid Guaranty or Contract Bond for the full amount of the bid or a certified check, cashier's check, or an irrevocable letter of credit in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid.  All such Bid Guaranties and Contract Bonds must comply in all respects with applicable Ohio law for public school construction projects.  Bid Guaranties and Contract Bonds accompanying rejected bids will be returned upon award of the contract.  

All submitted bids must comply in all respects with the requirements set forth in this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, and other Bid Documents.  A bid will be considered nonresponsive if it fails to comply in all respects with this Legal Notice, the Instructions to Bidders, and other Bid Documents.  No Bidder may withdraw a bid for a period of thirty (30) days from the date of the opening of the sealed bids. 

The Beachwood City School District Board of Education reserves the right to reject any or all bids.  Subject to the right of the Owner to reject any or all bids, the Beachwood City School District Board of Education will award the contract for the Work to the bidder that is determined to be responsible and who submits the lowest responsive bid in accordance with Section 9.312 of the Ohio Revised Code, taking into consideration accepted alternates, if any.

The estimated cost of the Work for the Project is $112,500.
