Frances Kimmelman Memorial Fund

At Hilltop, we celebrate “Frances Kimmelman’s Right to Read Week.” Frances worked many jobs throughout her life, but the one she loved the most, and the one she wanted to be remembered for, was working with the kids at Hilltop. From 1979 until 1994, Frances’ tireless work ethic and contagious smile made an impact on the lives of countless students when she worked as a lunch aide, secretary, and then full-time in the school library.

After she passed away, the Hilltop community came together to establish the Frances

Kimmelman Memorial Fund. The fund accepts donations to buy new books for the library, and through programs such as Right to Read Week, rewards students for their commitment to reading and learning.

Anyone can donate to the fund for any reason. If you would like to make a donation to the fund, please complete the slip below and return it to the Hilltop Library with your check. Donors are recognized in the school board meeting minutes and any honorees receive an acknowledgement card. Books bought through the fund are specially marked as Frances Kimmelman books, and can include a dedication bookplate.

Thank you,

The Kimmelman/ Lockshin Family
