Six Beachwood DI Teams Advance to States

March 14, 2015 – Six Beachwood teams have qualified for the Destination Imagination state tournament after placing first in their respective challenges at the Destination Imagination Regional Tournament held at BHS on March 14. A record 15 Beachwood teams competed.  

Beachwood Takes Top Prizes at Science & Engineering Fair
March 12, 2015 – Ten Beachwood students placed and seven won Special Awards at the Northeastern Ohio Science and Engineering Fair. Swathi Srinivasan was a Grand Prize Winner, won three Special Awards and was one of four BHS students who took first place. 
7th & 8th Graders Dominate Local Math Contest
March 7, 2015 – All five Beachwood Middle School teams took home medals - including first place awards in both seventh and eighth grades - at the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics 7th and 8th grade math contest on March 7. 
BMS Musicians Earn Top Ratings at Local Contest
March 7, 2015 – Fifty-four BMS musicians earned superior or excellent scores at the Greater Cleveland Solo and Ensemble Contest. In total, BMS students earned 27 I ratings (superior) and four II ratings (excellent) in the 31 combined band and orchestra events in which they competed. 
Now Registering for Kindergarten!
The registration process has begun for Beachwood residents who will enter Kindergarten for the Fall of 2015. Students must turn five years old by September 30, 2015, to be eligible for Kindergarten. Beachwood Kindergartners attend Bryden Elementary School. 
Beachwood "Mathletes" Take 1st Place at Local Contest
Feb. 21, 2015 – Three teams of Beachwood students took first place at the Greater Cleveland Council of Teachers of Mathematics Competition. Seven total teams of Beachwood fifth and sixth graders competed, with each winning either a first-place trophy or "Champions" award. 
BHS Musicians Earn Top Ratings at 2015 OMEA Contest
Jan. 24, 2015 – Twenty-six BHS musicians earned superior or excellent scores at the 2015 OMEA Solo and Ensemble Contest. In total, 41 BHS students competed, earning 19 I ratings (superior) and seven II ratings (excellent) in 28 combined instrumental and vocal events. 
Governor's Budget Would Cost Beachwood $1.3 Million
Feb. 13, 2015 – If the state budged is implemented as presently proposed by the governor, Beachwood is among the school districts scheduled to lose the greatest percentage of state revenue – and a total permanent loss of $1,314,126 to Beachwood Schools over two years.
